OUR VISION
A Home and Healing Community for Every Person
OUR MISSION
Healing takes place when people are shown the care, love and respect we all deserve. Plymouth Healing Communities provides companionship, housing, and circles of support for people who live with mental illness and housing instability.
STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLES
Value Equity: Our approach is informed by a vision of social justice that upholds liberation for all.
Recognize Systemic Injustice: We understand the interrelated nature of privilege, oppression, and systemic injustices due to racial identity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, age, gender, and sexual orientation.
Be an Advocate: We support and advocate for residents in a holistic manner, across the many systems that affect them.
Connect with Empathy: We meet residents with care, respecting their autonomy and keeping their strengths and challenges in mind.
OUTCOMES AND INTENDED IMPACTS
We seek to build a trustworthy, stable, and empowering community for people threatened with mental health crises and co-occurring conditions, who are living with housing instability or homelessness. Our approach to providing supportive housing is based on partnerships with other service providers, supportive services by our staff, the development of companionship and community, and mission driven property management. Collectively, we work toward an outcome where residents can strengthen their mental, emotion, physical, social, and spiritual resilience and maintain financial and housing stability.
The intended impacts of our work are that residents:
- Can ask for needed support,
- Have an understanding of how to cope, and the resilience to cope with mental illness,
- Are able to be peers to others who are living with mental illness,
- And have agency to help create and influence the communities in which they live.
